Meet Companion, your AI business advisor

Companion is the AI advisor built into your Jimdo dashboard. It understands your business, your website, your goals, your bookings, and your traffic, and uses that context to give you clear, actionable advice.

You can use it to create personalised plans, ask questions, or generate content. Companion is included with every Jimdo account at no extra cost.

Where to find Companion

You will find Companion at the top of your dashboard under the prompt "What’s your goal today?".

You can also access it via Ask Companion in the top right of the website builder.

Setting a goal and getting a plan

The easiest way to get started is to tell Companion what you want to achieve. Just type your goal in your own words.

For example:

  • "I want to get more bookings for my yoga classes"
  • "Help me promote my new service"
  • "I want my website to look more professional"

Companion creates a step by step plan tailored to your business. Each step is actionable and links directly to the right place in Jimdo.

Note: Companion suggests actions, but you stay in control. Nothing is published or changed unless you confirm it.

What you can ask Companion

You can also ask Companion questions about your business or how to use Jimdo:

  • "Write a description of my new service for my website"
  • "Why is my traffic down this week?"
  • "What should I post on Instagram about my café?"
  • "How do I set up online payments?"

Companion uses your business data to give relevant answers, including your website content, offerings, analytics, and Business Profile.

How Companion uses your data

Companion uses the following information from your Jimdo account:

  • Your Business Profile (name, category, offerings, goals, tone of voice)
  • Your website content (pages and text)
  • Your analytics (visitor data from the last 30 days)
  • Your bookings and store data, if available

Privacy: Jimdo does not use your business data to train AI models. Your data is only used to provide your own Companion experience and is not shared with other users.

Getting the most out of Companion

To get better results:

  • Complete your Business Profile for more relevant suggestions
  • Be specific when describing your goals
  • Use the Learn how to use Companion link in the top right of your dashboard to explore more features

You can also ask Companion for help with questions you would usually send to our Support Team. Companion has the knowledge needed to guide you and provide relevant support.
