Google has to know that your website exists before it can appear within its search. To do so, Google uses so called ‘crawlers’ to visit and index your website.
When will Google visit my website?
It’s up to Google to visit your website - only they know when to send their crawlers your way. New websites can be crawled within a couple of days, but in some cases it can also take several weeks.
Can I accelerate the process?
You may add your website to the Google Search Console and use the Fetch as Google tool. Afterwards, you can tell Google to index your website. Please note that it may still take a while for Google to actually index your website.
Can I check the current status?
Yes! You can check whether your website has already been indexed by typing in the following into Google’s search box:
site:YOUR WEBSITE ADDRESS
