Google Ads campaigns are now managed directly in your Google Ads account, not inside Jimdo. Jimdo supports your campaigns by enabling conversion tracking through a Tracking ID that connects your website to Google Ads. Your campaigns, data, and performance insights remain in Google Ads while your Jimdo site tracks conversions.
What changed
Google has discontinued the embedded advertising experience (PAX) for all third party platforms, including Jimdo.
This means:
- You can no longer create or manage campaigns inside your Jimdo dashboard
- The Google Ads editor has been replaced by a Tracking ID field
- Campaign management now happens entirely in Google Ads (ads.google.com)
How Google Ads works with Jimdo now
Jimdo and Google Ads now have clearly separated roles:
In Jimdo:
- You add and manage your Google Ads Tracking ID
- Your website tracks conversions
In Google Ads:
- You create and manage campaigns
- You control budgets, targeting, and ads
- You view performance data and reports
As long as your Tracking ID is connected, your Jimdo website will continue to send conversion data to Google Ads.
Add or check your Tracking ID
Your Tracking ID connects your Jimdo website to your Google Ads account. It has the
format AW-XXXXXXXXXX.
If you already used Google Ads with Jimdo
In most cases, your Tracking ID is already connected and no action is required.
If you need to add or re enter your Tracking ID
- Log in to your Google Ads account at ads.google.com
- In the left-hand menu, click on Tools (the wrench icon).
- Under Data manager, click Manage at the Google Tag Manager
- Copy your Tag ID / Destination (AW-XXXXXXXXXX)
- Go to your Jimdo dashboard
- Open Marketing > Google Ads
- Paste the Tag ID into the field
- Save your changes
Your conversion tracking will continue automatically.
Manage your campaigns in Google Ads
All campaign related actions are now done directly in Google Ads.
Go to ads.google.com to:
- Create new campaigns
- Edit existing campaigns
- Set budgets and targeting
- Monitor performance and conversions
Your Jimdo website will track conversions for your campaigns as long as your Tracking ID is connected.
Remove Google Ads tracking
If you no longer want to track conversions on your website:
- Go to your Jimdo dashboard
- Open Marketing > Google Ads
- Click Remove tracking
- Confirm your choice
Removing the Tracking ID stops conversion tracking on your website. Your campaigns and data in Google Ads are not affected.
Important notes
- Your Google Ads account, campaigns, and history remain unchanged
- Conversion tracking only works if your Tracking ID is connected
- Jimdo does not manage your campaigns anymore
- For questions about campaign performance, billing, or ads, contact Google Ads support directly
Frequently asked questions
Why did Google Ads change on Jimdo?
Google discontinued the Partner Ads Experience (PAX), which powered the embedded campaign editor. This affects all third party platforms, not just Jimdo.
Will my existing campaigns stop working?
No. Your campaigns run in Google Ads and continue independently of Jimdo.
Will my conversion tracking still work?
Yes, as long as your Tracking ID remains connected to your Jimdo website.
Do I need to take any action?
In most cases, no. Your Tracking ID is already connected. Only follow additional steps if you are asked to re enter it.
Where can I find my Tracking ID?
Log in to ads.google.com, go to Tools & Settings > Linked accounts, and copy your ID (AW-XXXXXXXXXX).
Do I need to reconnect my Google account?
No. Account connection is no longer required. The Tracking ID is sufficient.
Where do I manage my campaigns now?
Directly in Google Ads at ads.google.com.
Can I still create new campaigns?
Yes, but only in Google Ads, not in Jimdo.
Is my historical campaign data still available?
Yes. All your campaigns, conversions, and spend data remain in your Google Ads account.
Does this affect my Jimdo plan or pricing?
No. Your plan and pricing remain unchanged.
What happens if I remove the Tracking ID?
Conversion tracking will stop on your website, but your campaigns and data in Google Ads will not be affected.
I do not use Google Ads. Does this affect me?
No. If you have not set up Google Ads, nothing changes for you.
