How can I delete a file from the media library?

If you have linked a file via a button or a link on your page, the file will remain saved in your media library even if you remove the link or button. If someone has the direct link to the file, for example through a search hit in a search engine, the file remains accessible. You can prevent this by deleting the file from your media library.

Delete a file from the media library:

1. Log in to your Jimdo account and select the desired website
2. Click on Edit Website to get to the edit mode of your Jimdo website
3. Click on the link function for the content of your choice: Buttons - Texts - Images (except title block and shop product images)
4. Click on File
5. Select the file you want to delete
6. Click on Delete
7. Done!

Please note: The media library is only available with one of our Premium packages. Therefore, if you cancel your subscription or decide to switch to a free package, you will no longer be able to access the media library.
