The color palette is where you can define the main colors for your website. These colors will be available to use throughout your website, helping you create a cohesive and professional look matching your style and brand.
Not sure which colors to choose? Our AI palette selector can suggest combinations to inspire you, or you can upload an image that reflects your brand to automatically create a custom palette based off the image!.
Our color palette selector makes it easy to craft a design that perfectly represents your style and identity.
Customizing design colors
- Log in to your Jimdo account and select the website you want to edit.
- Click on Edit Website to enter your Jimdo website’s edit mode.
- In the left menu, go to Website Builder > Design.
- Click on Edit color palette.
- Click directly on a color tile to select your first color. You can use the color picker in any of the following ways
- Click anywhere in the gradient area to pick the shade you like. Move the circle to adjust it until it looks right.
- Use the rainbow bar at the bottom to change the main color. Drag the circle along the bar to explore different colors.
- If you know the exact color you want, type its color code (e.g., #3464d0) into the box at the top.
- Repeat this step for the second, third, and fourth colors in your color palette. The palette ideas are generated based on the first two colors in your palette. If you only select or change these two colors, the palette ideas will update automatically.
Automatically Suggested Colors
If you don’t want to set your own colors, our system offers two options: suggested color ideas under "Palette ideas" and “AI-generated Popular palettes” colors based on two scenarios:
- Your selected a category: If you specified a category for your business during the website setup, the colors will be tailored to match that category.
- No category selected: If no category was chosen, our AI will generate a selection of color combinations that fit your website.
Both options ensure a harmonious and professional design.
Note: Changes will only appear online once you click Publish.
Generating a color palette from an image
Alternatively, you can generate your colors from an image. To do this, click the Create palette from image button and select your image.
If you decide not to use the colors from the image, you can switch back to editing your color palette by clicking the "Edit your palette" button. Please note that the colors from the image will not automatically revert to your previous palette; you’ll need to adjust them manually if needed.
If you accidentally overwrite your selected colors with other colors or a suggested palette, you can use the Back button located above the navigation on the left to restore your previous color settings.
Tip: Filters, block backgrounds, and button colors will automatically adjust to match your design.
