If you’ve already connected your domain to your Jimdo website, you can set up an email forwarding at any time.
Email forwardings and plan limits
Important:
The number of email forwardings depends on your subscribed plan.
The Start plan includes one email forwarding. If you would like to set up additional forwardings, an upgrade to a higher plan is required.
If you are already using the number of forwardings included in your plan, you won’t be able to add another email forwarding in your dashboard.
Number of email forwardings included per plan:
- Free: 0
- Start: 1
- Grow: 5
- Grow Legal: 5
- Unlimited: 20
- Basic: 5
- Business: 5
- VIP: 20
Features
- An email forwarding is not a full mailbox. You can’t send emails from this address. Incoming emails will be forwarded to your actual email account after activation.
- Email forwardings can only be set up with a domain that is hosted by Jimdo.
- Your domain must not contain umlauts.
Set up email forwarding
Before setting it up, make sure that the email account you want to forward to is verified in your profile. Then follow these steps:
- Log in to your Jimdo account and select the desired website.
- Click Email on the left-hand side.
- Select the Email Forwardings tab.
-
In the left field Email Alias, enter the email forwarding address, meaning the address you want to forward.
Tip: You only need to enter the part before the
@symbol. For example, if your domain ismy-domain.comand you want to useinfo@my-domain.com, simply enterinfoin the Email Alias field. The part with the@symbol and your domain will be added automatically. - In the Destination address field, select the email account to which the messages should be forwarded. If your email address doesn’t appear here, it must first be added to your Jimdo account profile.
- Click the Add Email Forwarding button.
Important: After creating your forwarding, you’ll automatically receive a confirmation email from no-reply@a.hostedemail.com. Click the link in that email within 24 hours to confirm the destination address. Only then will the forwarding become active and functional.
Troubleshooting
- Didn’t receive an email? Also check your spam or newsletter folder. You can request a new confirmation email by deleting the forwarding in your dashboard and creating it again.
- Link expired? Delete the forwarding and create it again. This will send a new confirmation email.
- Messages during confirmation: Emails sent to the alias before the destination address is confirmed will not be forwarded.
