When visitors interact with your website, their data can be collected through contact forms, online store purchases, and Bookings. You can enable marketing consent to ensure they explicitly agree to receive newsletters and marketing emails. This article explains how to activate this option and manage your contacts.
Where contact data comes from
Visitor information is automatically stored in your dashboard when they interact with your website. This includes:
- Contact forms
- Online store orders
- Bookings
This data may include email addresses, phone numbers, and other details provided by your visitors.
To use this data for marketing, you can enable marketing consent. This ensures visitors explicitly agree to receive email newsletters from you.
This feature is available depending on your premium plan. It is included from the Grow or Business plan onwards. You can upgrade at any time.
Activating marketing consent
Follow these steps to enable the marketing consent option for your contacts:
- Log in to your Jimdo account and choose your website.
- Open the menu and go to Contacts > Contact list.
- Activate the toggle under Grow your customer base.
You will always find all collected contacts in Contacts > Contact list, regardless of whether marketing consent is enabled.
You can also customize the consent text by following this guide: Customize the consent text.
Only send marketing emails to contacts who have explicitly given their consent. For legal questions, consult a professional advisor.
