In this article, you’ll learn how to find your Google Ads Destination ID and add it to your Jimdo dashboard. This allows you to enable conversion tracking, analyze your campaigns, and better understand the performance of your ads.
What is the Destination ID?
The Destination ID (also called Tag ID) is a unique code from your Google Ads account. It always starts with AW- followed by numbers, for example AW-1234567890.
You use this ID to connect your Jimdo website with Google Ads. This allows Google to track what visitors do on your website after clicking on your ads.
Find your Destination ID in Google Ads
Follow these steps to find your Destination ID:
- Log in to Google Ads
- In the left menu, click Tools (wrench icon)
- Go to Data manager
- Under Google Tag, click Manage
- Copy your Tag ID / Destination ID (format:
AW-XXXXXXXXXX)
Add the Destination ID in Jimdo
To connect your Jimdo website with Google Ads:
- Open your Jimdo dashboard
- Go to Marketing > Google Ads
- Paste your Destination ID into the field
- Click Save
Your connection is now set up.
What happens after connecting?
Once your Destination ID is added, Google Ads starts collecting data from your website, such as:
- Page views
- Button clicks
- Purchases or contact requests
- Visitor behavior after clicking an ad
This data helps you understand and improve your campaigns.
How to check if everything works
After setup, you can check if your connection is active:
- In Google Ads under Tools > Data manager
- Check the status of your tags
- First data usually appears within a few hours
It may take up to 24 hours for all data to be fully available.
Common issues
If something is not working, check the following:
- Incorrect Destination ID
- Changes were not saved
- Google Ads account is not fully set up
- No active campaigns
These are the most common causes and are usually quick to fix.
