This article explains how to find and edit the legal pages in the footer of your Jimdo website, such as your privacy policy, legal notice, and cookie policy.
What we mean by system pages
The pages that appear in the footer of your Jimdo website — such as your privacy policy, legal notice (Impressum), and cookie policy — are managed in a separate area of your website builder. Inside Jimdo we call these your system pages.
System pages are the small set of pages that are only reachable through the footer of your website, not your main navigation. Depending on your setup and country, they typically include:
- Privacy policy
- Legal notice / Imprint (Impressum)
- Cookie policy
- Terms and conditions (where applicable)
You might also hear these pages called legal pages or footer pages. They all live in the same place inside your Jimdo website builder.
How to edit your system pages
Follow these steps to update your legal pages:
- Log in to your Jimdo account and choose the website you want to edit.
- Click Edit Website to open your website's edit mode.
- In the left menu, click Website Builder → Pages.
- Your system pages appear in their own section on the left. Click the page you'd like to update, then change the existing content or add new website areas.
If you use the Legal Text Generator
If you generated your privacy policy or legal notice with Jimdo's Legal Text Generator, you won't be able to edit those pages with the steps above.
The text is created and kept up to date by the generator. To change it, update your information directly in the Legal Text Generator and the pages will refresh automatically.
About photo credits on your system pages
If you use images that Jimdo provides, photo credits are added automatically. A few things to know:
- Photo credits can't be removed manually. They disappear on their own when you stop using the Jimdo provided image.
- If you don't see the image at first glance, check your hidden subpages and any newly added blocks. They can still contain Jimdo default images that trigger a credit.
- Standard images can also remain on system pages or on pages that were created temporarily, which can trigger credits even if you don't think the image is in use anywhere.
