If you don’t need your Jimdo website anymore, you can delete it at any time, provided it uses a Free plan. Please review the following information before proceeding.
Deleting a paid website
Only websites with a Free plan can be deleted.
If you are using a paid Jimdo plan, you must first complete the subscription cancellation and wait until the end of the current contract term.
Permanent deletion is only possible after the contract has ended.
Deleting a free website
Proceed as follows to delete your Free website:
- Log in to your Jimdo account.
- Go to the top banner.
- Click on Projects.
- Click on Actions and choose Delete for the website you wish to remove.
- Read the security note and tick the checkbox if you agree.
- Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete website.
Note: Carefully consider whether you truly want to delete your Jimdo website. Deletion cannot be undone. If you are unsure, you can unpublish your website temporarily instead.
Website Deletion During an Active Contract Term
- If your contract is still active until the end of the current term, the website cannot be technically deleted.
- A cancellation only stops the automatic renewal, not the current billing period.
- During the active contract term, you can take the website offline by unpublishing it.
- Permanent deletion is only possible after the contract has ended.
