If you’re using your domain in connection to an email account, you should backup your email accounts before transferring your domain. Your email accounts do not get transferred with your domain.
Using an own email client
- Download your preferred email client and install it on your computer
- Create an account that uses the login details of your email account (the account you would like to backup)
- You might need to ask your email provider for detailed server settings
- Depending on the program you’re using you’ll need to proceed differently. Often, the feature is named Archive
We recommend using a free email client like Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook for this purpose.
