Smart Forms let you interact with your website visitors by collecting information through a customizable form. Here’s how to create a new form:
Step 1: Find Smart Forms
Option A: Through the Dashboard
- Click on Smart Forms in the side menu of your dashboard.
Option B: Directly on Your Website
- Navigate to the Smart Forms block you added to your website.
- Click on the block and select Create and connect a Form.
Step 2: Create and Customize Your Form
- Click on Customise this form (this option is only visible if no Smart Form has been set up yet) or choose one from the templates under "More forms for you."
Note: If you answered questions about your business during the Jimdo website setup process, you’ll also see AI-generated Smart Form suggestions tailored to your needs.
- Add a Form Title to name your form. This title will be displayed on your website. You can also add a Form Description to provide more context or instructions for your visitors, and this description will also be visible on your website.
- Customize the form’s questions by editing existing ones, adding new ones, or deleting any unnecessary ones.
Note: The email address question cannot be deleted or altered. This ensures that you can continue the conversation with your visitor via email, preventing the form submission from becoming a dead end. Additionally, if the contacts feature is enabled, the visitor's email address will be automatically stored under Contacts. This feature is available starting from the Grow plan. The email address is also required for the system to automatically send a copy of the completed form to the visitor after submission.
Step 3: Finalize and Save
- Scroll down after making all adjustments.
- Click on Save Form and Preview to save your changes and see how the form will look on your website.
Once your website is published, visitors can see and use the new form.
