What you can adjust yourself in the SEO settings
In the SEO section of your Jimdo Editor, you can decide how your website appears on Google. This information is displayed directly below your website name in search results – it’s therefore crucial for making a good first impression.
- Homepage title: This title appears in search results and at the top of the browser tab when someone visits your homepage. Choose a clear and understandable phrase that expresses what visitors can expect on your website.
- Website title: This title describes your entire website and often represents your brand. It appears, for example, in search results, social media, or browser bars. A combination of your company name and a short, concise description is recommended (e.g. “Maria’s Floristry – Flowers & Decor in Hamburg”).
- Website description (Meta Description): Add a short and appealing description that users see in Google results under your title. It should contain relevant search terms and be about 150–160 characters long, so it’s displayed completely.
You can find these options in the Jimdo Editor under Website Builder → click the menu with the three dots (⋮) in the top right corner → Activate SEO tools. Once the SEO tools are active, you can enter and edit your homepage title, website title, and description at any time. Don’t forget to save your changes by clicking the “Save settings” button in the lower right corner.
