How do I add alternative text to my images on my Jimdo website?

Use alternative text (or ‘alt text’) to give your images a short description. It helps visually impaired people use and understand your website. This description is displayed if an image on your website cannot be loaded.

Alt text also helps to give your website a SEO boost. Google and other search engines make use of alt text in order to ‘read’ your images and put them into context.

Adding alt text

1. Log in to your Jimdo account and choose the desired website
2. Click Edit Website to enter your Jimdo website’s edit mode
3. Click on an image
4. Click on the specs icon
5. Type in your alt text
6. Click the checkmark to confirm
