Companion is your AI-powered business advisor built right into Jimdo. It has two main features: the Companion Dashboard, which analyzes your business performance and gives personalized recommendations, and the Companion Chat, where you can ask questions, get content created, and receive strategic advice. Think of it as a business consultant who knows your company inside out – available 24/7.
How much does Companion cost?
Companion is included in your Jimdo account at no extra cost. Both the Dashboard and Companion Chat are available immediately.
Is my business data private and secure?
Yes. Companion only accesses data from your Jimdo account, as well as data from the connected AI models, and solely for your benefit. Your website content, analytics, and business data are processed securely and handled in compliance with the GDPR. More information can be found here: Article.
What makes Companion different from ChatGPT or other AI tools?
Companion knows your business – your industry, your services, your website, and your goals. When you ask “How do I get more bookings?”, it analyzes your actual booking data and site setup. ChatGPT can only provide generic tips.
Companion Dashboard Questions
How often should I check my Dashboard?
Weekly or bi-weekly is ideal to track trends and see the latest recommendations.
Why do I only see three recommendations?
Companion focuses on the top three actions with the biggest impact for your business. Once you complete them, rerun the Dashboard for new recommendations.
What does “Requires upgrade” mean?
Companion only suggests upgrades when they bring clear value to your business. You always decide whether to follow the recommendation.
I already have the recommended feature. Why is it shown again?
Either the data was temporarily out of sync, or Companion suggests using it differently or upgrading it. Try running the Dashboard again or contact support if it persists.
Can I get recommendations for specific topics (like SEO or social media)?
The Dashboard shows your top priorities overall. For specific topics, ask the Companion Chat directly.
Why are my stats different from Google Analytics?
They measure differently. Companion uses Jimdo Analytics to track real visitor actions, while Google Analytics may include bots or count referral traffic differently.
What do “Week-over-Week” and “Month-over-Month” mean?
“Week-over-Week” compares this week to the previous one, while “Month-over-Month” compares this month to last month. These metrics show if your business is growing, stable, or declining.
Companion Chat Questions
What can I ask the Companion Chat?
You can ask about strategy, content creation, performance analysis, or platform help – from marketing ideas to writing texts for your website or social media.
Why is there a 25-message-per-day limit?
It encourages you to take action rather than just plan. The limit resets daily at midnight (UTC).
What if I reach my limit?
Use the Dashboard for insights and wait for the reset. Acting on advice is more valuable than sending more questions.
Can Companion make changes to my website automatically?
No. Companion advises and creates content, but you apply the changes. This ensures you stay in control.
Can Companion write my entire website at once?
No. It creates specific sections such as your About page or service descriptions to maintain quality and your unique voice.
Does Companion remember previous conversations?
Yes, within the same chat thread. New conversations start fresh.
How does Companion know my business?
By analyzing your profile, website content, analytics, and industry benchmarks. This enables personalized recommendations.
The advice seems too generic – how can I improve it?
Make sure your business profile is complete and your website has real content. The more data Companion has, the more specific its advice.
Can Companion create content in a different language?
Yes. It responds in the same language you use to ask your question.

Why does it sometimes take longer to respond?
Responses usually take 2–8 seconds depending on data volume. If it takes much longer, try again or contact support.
Can I see old conversations?
It depends on your Companion interface. Some save chat history; others start fresh.
What does “no access to certain data” mean?
Companion only accesses Jimdo data, not external platforms like Instagram or third-party email tools.
Can I share my recommendations with my team?
Yes. You can take screenshots or copy text to share with others.
Privacy & Account Questions
Does Companion access my customers’ personal information?
No. It only sees aggregated analytics, not individual customer data.
What happens if I delete a conversation?
It disappears from your view, but your business data remains in your Jimdo account.
Does Companion AI learn from my conversations?
