Before you can accept online payments in your store, for bookings, via payment links or for invoices, we need to verify you and your business. You complete the verification directly in your Jimdo dashboard when you set up payments. This article explains what you need, how the verification works and what happens if it's declined.
What you need
Note: This article applies if you set up payments directly in your Jimdo dashboard. If you connected your own Stripe account, you manage your payments in Stripe.
Have the following information ready before you start:
- Your name, date of birth and home address
- Your business name, address and phone number
- Your business tax number, if you have a registered business
- The address of your website
- What your business sells
- The bank account you want your payouts to go to
If your business is a registered company, you'll also need the name, date of birth and home address of everyone who owns or runs it.
You don't need a separate account with a payment provider.
How the verification works
- Log in to your Jimdo account and open your dashboard.
- Go to Payments and start setting up payments.
- Enter the requested details about you and your business.
- Add your bank account for payouts.
- Submit your details.
Once your details have been verified, you can accept payments. The same payment setup is used for your store, bookings, payment links and invoices.
If more information is needed
Sometimes more information is needed to complete the verification, or later on to keep your payments active. In that case, you'll see a notice under Payments. Add the missing information there.
If the verification is declined
If your verification is declined, you can't accept online payments. The decision is made by our payment partner, and Jimdo can't change it. If you have questions about a declined verification, contact our Support team.
