If you want to refund a payment received from a customer through your Jimdo website, this must be done directly through the payment provider used for the transaction. Refunds are not processed within Jimdo, but through Stripe or PayPal. This article refers only to payments made by your customers to you, not payments you made to Jimdo.
Understanding refunds
Once a customer payment has been completed, it is processed by the selected payment provider. To issue a refund, you need to log in to your account with that provider.
The refund is then handled directly by the provider and sent back to your customer.
Refund via Stripe
If your customer paid via Stripe, you can issue the refund in your Stripe dashboard.
Step by step
- Log in to your Stripe account
- Go to the Payments section
- Select the relevant customer payment
- Click Refund and confirm the amount
