With Bookings at Jimdo, you can offer bookable events on your website. Depending on when you ordered Bookings, the steps to create an event differ. This article clearly separates the process for the old Bookings version and the new Bookings version.
What are events in Bookings
Events allow you to offer bookable dates for several participants. They are ideal for courses, seminars, workshops, or concerts.
Depending on your Bookings version, events may coexist with services or replace them entirely.
Preparation
Complete these steps first before creating an event:
- Log in to your Jimdo account.
- Select the website you want to manage.
- Open Bookings from the menu.
Before creating your first event, we recommend reviewing your Bookings settings.
In the old Bookings version, go to Settings and check:
- Your availability and time slots
- Weekdays and booking times
- The default location for your events
- Optional alternative or online locations
In the new Bookings version, you can only manage your unavailabilities in the settings. All other details such as availability, booking times, and locations are defined directly when creating each event.
Create an event in the old Bookings version
This section applies if you ordered Bookings on or before February 15, 2026. In this version, services and events are separate.
- Click Create New in the top right corner and select New Event.
- Enter the event details:
- Choose a clear event name. It appears in the booking calendar and notifications.
- Add dates and times. For recurring events, use Add new date.
- Set the maximum number of participants.
- If you charge a fee, add the price per participant. Online payments are not available.
- Add an alternative or online location if needed.
- Save the event.
- Click Add to website to display the booking calendar, or add it later manually.
Create an event in the new Bookings version
This section applies if you ordered Bookings starting February 16, 2026. In this version, you only create events. The previous distinction between services and events no longer exists.
Instead, you decide how customers can book each event.
- Click + Create event.
- Choose how the event can be booked:
- Fixed time for appointment based offers
- Time window for classic events within a defined booking period
- Add the event details such as name, description, dates, capacity, and location.
- Save the event to make it available for booking.
